Need Space? Moving Home? Decluttering?

Thinking of moving home? Or maybe you’re renovating and need to declutter so the builders can move around freely? Are you looking for somewhere to store your belongings and need some easy access to self-storage warehouse space? Or maybe you need to store your business documents?

There are a dozen or more reasons for having a storage requirement, there are all sorts of reasons that may make you think “I need storage” but perhaps you’re not entirely sure how it works and where to find it, you may also be worried about how much it is going to cost. So to help we have put together this handy storage and self-storage guide to help you decide.

We offer two different types of storage here at Winchester Removals and Storage;

Container Storage – The first storage option is better suited to those clients who do not require regular access to their items and would prefer to use our removal collection and delivery service which makes light work of the task for the client. Our storage containers measure 7 x 6 x 5 ft and can hold approximately 250 cubic feet of furniture and effects. For more information on this option click on the link Container Storage

Our second offering is what we call ‘Self Storage‘, these are shipping containers stowed outside which allows the client easy access and to come and go as they please during our opening hours. This is perfect for those looking for extra space to accolade a hobby, or for those clients that may need to pop in and out to collect bits as the build progresses for instance. Our self-storage containers (internal) measurements are L 19’3″ (5.85m) x W 7’7″ (2.33m) x H 7’9″ (2.35m) this space is equivalent to perhaps a 7.5t Luton van load providing a little over 30sqm or 1000 cuft of secure self-storage space, each self-storage container also comes with soft woollen furniture blankets for the wrapping and protection of your furniture. For more information go to Self-Storage.

It’s also sensible to think about how long you will require the storage for our services options are priced differently so be sure to discuss this with one of our team.

Other considerations which may have an impact on the price include;
Access
Most storage facilities have opening hours that dictates when you can access your unit. Think about when you are most likely to need access or if it will be ad hoc?
Climate Control:
Not all storage sites are THE SAME, Never store goods without first inspecting the location where your goods will be stowed, farms and run-down brownfields sites can be overrun with vermin and other pests. Also, check the condition of the self-storage containers as they’re open to the elements,
Security:
It is likely that there will be significant value to the items you place in storage. Finding self-storage with CCTV, secure entry systems and alarm monitoring will give you peace of mind that your belongings are safe.
